Packing your hospital bag can be nerve wracking. You’re probably nesting like crazy and if you’re like me, you’re making lists of everything you think you need and before you know it you’re set to pack everything you own. Truth is, you don’t need all of that. Here’s the Ultimate Hospital Bag Checklist with everything you never knew you’d need!
You want to cover your bases because no matter how much you plan, somethings will never go as planned. Depending on how your pregnancy, labor, and delivery go you could be in the hospital for just one night or maybe three. Every experience is different. Just remember to breathe and keep your eyes on the prize. You get to go home with the most wonderful prize when it’s all said and done.

Ready, Set, Pack for Mom, Dad, and Baby!
Mom’s hormones will be all over the place. You’ll be hot, cold, and hot again. The good news is, hospital blankets are warm so pack light. Dad will be just as sleep deprived as you so make sure he’s comfortable too. Baby is brand spanking new and luckily the hospital will have most of what he needs for the beginning. So here goes nothin’…
For Mom:
Comfy outfits (You’ll want everything loose fitting after baby)
Postpartum Belly Band!! (Seriously ladies, you’ll thank me later!)
Big panties in dark colors (Postpartum bleeding is no joke, I just bought a cheap pack of Hanes and threw them away afterwards)
Nipple Balm (this one works wonders!)
Flip flops
Insurance Cards/ID
Cell phone charger
Pillow from home!! (Seriously, anything to make you as comfortable as possible)
Travel size toiletries:
– Shampoo/conditioner
– Deodorant
– Toothbrush/toothpaste
– Hair brush
– Makeup (Nothing made me feel more myself again than a hot shower, fresh clothes, and my face made up)
For Dad:
Comfy outfits
Shoes
Snacks
Cell phone charger
Travel size toiletries:
– Shampoo/conditioner
– Deodorant
– Toothbrush/toothpaste
For Baby:
