DIY Seasonal Door Hanger

DIY Seasonal Door Hanger

It’s finally October so what better way to spend my day than making a Fall door hanger? As soon as I even get a hint of a Fall breeze I immediately start craving all things pumpkin, cozy, and crafty! This year my name changes so it’s time to start crafting with my new initials. This ‘W’ door hanger is the best way to start. This DIY Door Hanger can be made for any season; Its perfect!

To make your own you’ll need:

Festive ribbon

Wooden letter

Wooden backboard (you can make your own with several slats of wood but I cheated and bought one at Walmart)

Paint

Artificial flowers

Hot glue

Step One

First thing you do is paint everything you’re wanting painted. Want your backboard to have a more rustic/antique look? Lightly brush some antique off white or even dusty red and brown all across the board. Be sure to paint with the grain. Once that is drying, paint your letter a nice accent color. Make sure everything has dried thoroughly before moving on.

Step Two

Take your dried backboard, center your dried letter, and break out that hot glue gun!! Make sure it’s good and glued down, you don’t want it to fall off of your door with the slightest breeze!

Step Three

Arrange your artificial flowers along the corners. Try a few different arrangements and once you figured out the perfect fit glue them to the backboard. (Be sure not to glue your fingers to anything or get burned…I seem to do one or the other EVERY time!)

Step Four

Measure your ribbon to the length you’d like your hanger to hang on your door, cut it, and staple it to the back of your door hanger.

Voila! You’ve got yourself a festive DIY Fall Door Hanger!

Makes for a Perfect holiday gift as well!
