Perfect Disney Park Bag

Perfect Disney Park Bag

I used to laugh at people in the “bag line” until I realized just how important a park bag really is! Here’s a complete packing list with everything you need to pack the Perfect Disney Park Bag.

Not just any Park Bag!

The perfect Disney park bag starts with the perfect bag. There is nothing better than a backpack diaper bag! I mean it, even if you don’t have a baby – invest in a good backpack diaper bag with insulated pockets. You get the best of both worlds in a blend between a cooler and a backpack. They’re the greatest! If you’re looking for a cheaper option, I’d suggest a good ol’ Jansport. Your shoulders will thank you for the extra support later!

Refillable Water Bottle

I cannot stress this enough, for about 9 months out of the year Florida is hot. That makes it incredibly easy to overheat. If you’re not properly hydrating you can experience anything from the dreaded “Disney rash” and dizziness to vomiting and even death in the event of extreme heat stroke. So please, please, please make your refillable water bottle the first thing you pack in your Disney park bag! You can refill it for free at any Disney Quick Service restaurant or Starbucks; Just ask for a cup of ice water (or two!).

Portable Phone Charger

This should be a no-brainer in today’s day and age but I can’t tell you how many times I have made a note in my phone telling me where we parked only to have my phone be dead by the time we actually make it back out to the parking lot… Not to mention missing out on killer fireworks pictures because of it too. Bring a good portable phone charger with you so you won’t miss a thing – and check out the new Disney Play app for games to keep you entertained while you wait in line.

Mouse Gear

No day at Disney is complete without Disney gear. I don’t ever go into a park without wearing my Disney themed World Traveler hat or my Minnie Ears – And I always seem to come home with a new set to add to my collection! You can find handmade ones on Etsy or Amazon but if you see some you love while in Disney, grab them while you can! There’s no guarantee that you’ll be able to find the same style again later on. Trust me, I searched every day for a week straight before I was able to snag my Rose Gold Minnie Ears. It’s also a good idea to bring some tradable Disney Pins with you so that you’re not scrambling and spending $6-$15 per pin while in the parks.

Safe Sunscreen

Florida isn’t called the Sunshine State for nothing, it’s sunny and hot almost all year ’round. Plain and simple, you need to be protected when you plan on spending the day at outside at Disney. That being said, before you just grab the cheapest sunscreen at your local CVS, check out what some of those harmful ingredients can do to your body. Pick yourself up some safe, chemical-free sunscreen like this one to bring in your park bag and make sure you’re reapplying it as directed throughout the day.

Ponchos

The weather in Florida can change at the drop of a hat so it’s always a good idea to pack a couple of ponchos in your bag just in case. The ponchos you find in the parks are about $15 a piece, but you can easily find Disney ponchos on Amazon for almost half that!

Camera

I know, this one sounds lame at first but hear me out… Polaroids are making a come back! They’re a really cute and creative way to bring your memories home with you – and if you’re traveling with kids, pick up an autograph book and take a polaroid at every character meet. That way your child has those photos of them with their favorite characters to add to the signatures they collect. Cute, right?

Snacks

When a Mickey pretzel and cheese costs almost $8, you’ll be happy you brought some protein bars to snack on! Granted, I completely suggest checking out the new Hei Hei dole whip cones but that’s one treat compared to spending $5-$10 per person every time you want to stop for a quick snack.
