2. Tailwind Tribes are a hidden gem!

It took me months to finally take the plunge and try Tailwind but it has proven to be one of my most useful resources time and time again! I don’t know why it took me so long to sign up.

The way Tailwind works is it’s a pin scheduling app that looks at your pinterest, sees when people are most likely to repin your pins, and then pins your pins for you according to the suggested schedule you create. It saves an incredible amount of time but that’s only the tip of the iceberg…

When you join Tailwind, you’re given access to things called Tailwind Tribes. Tribes act like niche-specific group boards, some with tens of thousands of people all in one place looking for pins specifically like yours to repin. Think of posting your pin and 25,000 people get to see it immediately, that’s why Tailwind is so worth it.

3. Join Pinterest Group Boards

Like I mentioned earlier, you really want to utilize a place to share your pins where hundreds (sometimes thousands) of people will see it immediately. That’s where Pinterest group boards come into play. There are thousands of niche specific group boards floating around Pinterest and they’re all expanding their reach every single day. Pinterest Ninja comes with a list of 367 niche specific group boards! You can also search for them on your own on websites like Pin Groupie.

4. Create an Email List

So many bloggers will tell you that the email list is GOLD but they don’t often tell you just why it’s so important… Think about all the emails you get in a day. That’s the first place we’re notified with breaking news or even when killer sales are about to happen. If you want a direct line to your audience, you need an email list! I use an email company called Mailerlite that works wonders! They help you every step of the way and even offer pop-up promotions for your page

Which brings me to my next point, you can easily build an email list by offering some sort of opt-in to your audience. Once you have an opt-in ready to promote, Mailerlite helps you create in-page pop-ups and landing pages dedicated specifically to promoting that opt-in. I have an entire post highlighting my free Disney opt-in, you can check it out HERE.

5. Content, Content, Content

The most overlooked way to grow your blog traffic is the one method that’s right in front of you, content! If you want your readers to keep coming back and you want to attract new readers then you should be consistently providing them with fresh, quality content!

I’ve set myself up a content schedule that guides me through each week of new posts, marketing, and promotions. I suggest getting into a schedule of your own so that you’re always connected with your audience and you stay relevant to their day to day lives.

***I love feedback! Whether you loved this or have suggestions on how I can improve what I’m doing please feel free to leave a comment! Are there specific things that you’d like to see me post about? Send me a suggestion! Don’t forget, I post to all kinds of social media platforms. So keep an eye out for me on Facebook, InstagramTwitterMixBlog Lovin’ and (of course) Pinterest!

    • Great question! Each group board will have different requirements to join. They’re usually posted at the top of the group board. Send a message to the board owner and respectfully express your interest and request to be added. Once you’re sent an invite to join, be sure to follow the board rules when adding pins. 😊

  • Great post! I loved the tips. They were different from a lot of other blog traffic tips I’ve seen, so that was refreshing. I have one question though – I’ve struggled with planning and staying organized with my content – how do you plan your content?

    • Great question! Honestly, I’m a little old school about mine… I sit down at the beginning of each month and I write down an outline of my month for myself. I brainstorm a few different blog posts and social media posts that way I have inspiration to come back to throughout the month!

  • Great post! I feel like the only blogger not using tailwind. I always here great things about it. Always looking for ways to boost my traffic!!

  • I have a tailwind but I don’t I’m using it right or something. I have the tribes and share a lot but my traffic isn’t consistent and I don’t know how to get it consistent and heavy. Thank you for the tips!
