DIY Wreck It Ralph & Vanellope Von Schweetz Halloween Costumes

Before we were a Disney family we were a Disney couple! We are always trying to incorporate a little Disney into every part of our lives and so we started the tradition of Disney holidays! These Wreck It Ralph and Vanellope Von Schweetz Halloween Costumes were so much fun to make!

Halloween is one of my favorite days of the year. It has seeped into my fiancé’s bones as well. We LOVE to DIY our costumes every year and last year we made Wreck It Ralph and Vanellope Von Schweetz Halloween Costumes based off of the Disney movie Wreck It Ralph. We worked so hard on making everything as best we could and I think (totally not biased or anything) it came out pretty wonderfully.

Here’s what we used for our Wreck It Ralph and Vanellope Von Schweetz Halloween Costumes!

For Wreck It Ralph you’ll need:

Brown overalls

Green undershirt

Orange plaid button down shirt

Hair gel

Start by…

Cutting your overalls into capri length pants.

Then cut and rip the sleeves of your orange plaid button down until they are frayed and tee shirt length.

Finally put the outfit together, spike your hair tall with gel and become Wreck It Ralph!

For Vanellope you’ll need

Hot glue

Bobby pins

Assorted hard candy

Red rubber craft rope

Magenta paracord

Aqua colored hoodie (if you can’t find aqua, get white and dye it aqua)

Aqua colored leggings (if you can’t find aqua, get white and dye it aqua)

Dark brown pleated skirt (if you can’t find pleated, create your own pleated look with a steam iron)

White and Purple fabric paint

Black shoes

Step One

Start by hot gluing several pieces of candy onto the bobby pins. Vanellope’s hair is littered with hard candy and sprinkles.

Step Two

Cut the paracord into four 2.5″ pieces, an 8″ piece, and a 6″ piece. Tie knots at the bottom of the 8″and 6″ pieces and hot glue them to the neckline of the hoodie to mimic pull strings. Then hot glue the four 2.5″ pieces to match the stitching pattern shown below.

Step Three

Paint white and purple stripes along the aqua leggings to match the pattern pictured below.

Finally

Assemble your Wreck It Ralph and Vanellope Von Scwheetz Halloween Costumes and you’re ready for Halloween!
